“The Republic protects health as a fundamental right of the individual and in the interest of the community, and guarantees free treatment to the destitute”, says the Italian Constitution. Yet, in practice, this right is often overlooked: many people often have no access to care because they are not aware of their rights, language barriers, or are unable to navigate a complex healthcare system.
Our Italy Programme aims to support vulnerable people and communities to receive access to healthcare.
